The Kenya Meteorological Society is involved in creating awareness about weather, climate and climate change issues affecting Kenya as a country. This is done through encouraging operational research and sharing of the research findings and ongoing projects in weather, climate and environmental issues in the country for sustainable socio-economic development. In the past a regular newsletter called "The Weatherman" was published and circulated by KMS. It attracted wide readership from within Kenya and abroad. The Weather and Climate Bulletin targets the same readership and is committed to creating awareness of weather analyses and predictions of urgent importance to Kenyans.
