Congratulations IMTR class of 2015!!

 The Institute for Meteorological Training and Research is the WMO Regional Training Centre based in Nairobi, Kenya. The Institute held its 50th graduation ceremony on 3rd December 2015 at the Auditorium. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Guleid Artan (Director ICPAC), Dr. Elijah Mukhala (WMO Representative), Stella Aura, MBS (Principal) among others. The Kenya Meteorological Society was represented by Mr. Mutai Bethuel who presented an award to the best student on behalf of the KMS achair. Nine students were awarded diplomas. The Society wishes all the graduates well in their future endeavors.

KMS Annual Luncheon 2019

The Kenya Meteorological Society is organizing a get-together luncheon for all its members. The one day-event  scheduled for October, 2019 the date and venue to be communicated soon.

Members are required to pay Ksh. 3,000/- each and those accompanied by spouses to pay an additional Ksh. 1,500/- via the KMS office of Secretariat or via PayBill number 807061 and account number “LUNCHEON”.

It will be a good opportunity to interact, share and network as we reflect on the society's achievements, challenges and vision.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

12th KMS International Conference

The 12th KMS International Conference was successfully concluded at Kisumu Hotel. The three day event was officially opened on 11th November 2015 by H.E Jack Ranguma, Governor Kisumu County who was also the Guest of honour. The participants were mainly university lecturers and professors, meteorologists, environmentalists, climate experts, disaster preparedness and mitigation experts and upcoming scientists. Some foreign participants were scientists from Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and the UK. It was a great opportunity to exchange scientific research findings on weather, climate, and environmental innovation.
